Day 23 and 24: Rest Days in Bright

We’d only planned on having one day off the trail,  but on day 24 before leaving Bright, I looked at the weather forecast again and decided I didn’t want to hike in that.  Up to 30mm of rain, chance of a thunderstorm with damaging winds, large hail and winds 45-55km/hour.  No, thank you. Especially given the forecast for the rest of the week is mostly no rain at all.

We’ve had a lovely couple of days. Great hotel (highly recommend Bright Velo if you’re in the area), good food (especially Reed & Co Disillery), firm massage (thanks Paul Nixon), yummy beer (hello Bright Brewery) and just generally hanging out doing not much. I was a bit shocked that Jubbie made me walk the 1.5km to my massage (and back again!), even though it was a rest day.  That’s almost like wife abuse!

After a couple of days off, I was feeling very ready to get going again.

      1. You needed a GOOD rest. Your Dad is staying over here. He is struggling to walk but getting there. Doctor’s appointments etc. – not to worry. Mr Puska is allowing him to stay in the house…HaHa!!!! He is having an injection into his spine on Thursday…Look after yourself and stay safe….x
