We had planned to head off on a short walk to explore the historic area of Mt Murphy today, but we ended up staying a 45 min drive from there and driving 1.5 hours just didn’t seem worth it, particularly since we’ll have to come back again tomorrow to drop me at the start of my next day’s hike. Sorry neighbour Murphies – we would have liked to check it out and report back. Instead we went to Omeo and hung around doing not much except eating, wandering around and getting organised for the next couple of days. Omeo is a sweet little town the locals obviously take pride in. Lots of beautiful gardens and flowers, beautiful old buildings. It also has the signs of a dying town – almost every business is for sale!
We’re staying in a comfortable little motel room with plenty of beds!
After a meal at the pub with our next door neighbour Jim, we called it a night ready for an early start tomorrow.
