After a pretty full on two days of off track walking, my body felt tired and a bit sore for the first time and we decided to have a rest day in Thredbo before setting off again tomorrow. I’ve been super happy with how great I’ve been feeling and I put a lot of that down to the great people who help look after me. Jeff the osteo wizard with his magic healing abilities and his experimental ideas has fixed some of the long term issues I’ve had with my right hip. With what he calls some simple “mind hacks”, l feel like I’ve got a new lower body! Tim at Pilates has also been instrumental, weaving yoga into my practice, knowing when to challenge me and when to give my body a stretchy rest. Deb at Pilates is another of my support crew – she always knows how to help me take care of myself when my muscles are tight or I’m out of balance. Iva and her amazing deep tissue massages is there too – she irons out all the knots with amazing perseverance and skill. How lucky am l??
We slept in, ate and basically spent the day doing not much. A trip to Jindabyne for some impulse shopping was about the highlight.
By the end of the day I felt ready to get going again. And the great news is that some of the tracks in Victoria are now reopened – fingers crossed they stay that way!
Kerry, just caught up on all your posts. Fabulous photos, particularly appreciating the flowers. What determination and perseverance you have and I so admire your willingness to back yourself.
